Dr. Adams is a proud SJSD Alumni. After graduating from Lafayette High School and NWMSU, she began her career teaching and coaching in Ravenwood, Missouri, and at Spring Garden Middle School. Prior to earning a Doctorate in Leadership from William Woods University in 2020, Dr. Adams received an Ed.S. in the Superintendency, a M.S. in Elementary Leadership, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Northwest Missouri State University.

After serving as an assistant principal at Truman Middle School in 2003, she was named the principal at Webster Elementary. Upon the closing of Webster in 2009, Dr. Adams then moved to Noyes Elementary as principal and in 2011, she became the principal at Humboldt Elementary. In 2014, Dr. Adams was named the principal of the newly constructed Carden Park Elementary School.

In 2011 and 2018, Dr. Adams was honored as a Missouri Distinguished Principal nominee. In 2012 she was invited to the White House, where she met the President of the United States and was invited to discuss the consequences of No Child Left Behind for Title I schools with a panel led by U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan. Dr. Adams has served as the President of the local chapter of the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals and in various volunteer positions within the St. Joseph community. 

Dr. Adams feels blessed to be partnering with families, staff, and children daily and loves spending time with her family. She is married to her husband Joe and together, they enjoy raising three active children. She credits their love and support for allowing her to continue the work she so dearly loves. In her spare time, one will likely find Dr. Adams on a boat or at a sporting event.
